JUNIOR TAEKWONDO 7+ YEARS

The road to becoming a Black Belt can be a hard one, and a long one, so we feel it is important to develop and challenge our students in different ways in each step of their journey to keep them motivated as they improve.

OUR JUNIOR TAEKWONDO PROGRAM IS DIVIDED INTO 3 CLASS TYPES:

BEGINNER TAEKWONDO

Kicking Techniques: Learn and perfect the first six kicks.

Poomsae: Develop confidence as you progress through the first three poomsae (forms).

Boxing Fundamentals: Practice basic boxing combinations and defensive techniques.

Self-Defence: Gain practical skills with basic arm and wrist locks, applying them effectively to “front-on” attacks.

Movement & Sparring: Understand key stances and sparring movements, including side steps and inch-out countering.

Beyond techniques, you’ll learn how to train with purpose. This means setting and achieving goals, embracing the traditions of the dojang, and developing the discipline and consistency needed to earn belts and progress through the program.

This program isn’t just about learning Taekwondo; it’s about building habits and skills that will support your growth both on and off the mat.

Intermediate Taekwondo

Progressing to Yellow Belt III and higher represents a significant step up in both intensity and commitment. At this stage, you’ll begin learning more advanced kicking techniques, including spinning kicks, which demand precision and control. The poomsae at this level are more intricate and challenging, requiring dedicated practice to master.

Your boxing skills will continue to grow as you refine combinations and techniques. You’ll also start learning advanced self-defence techniques, such as effective escapes from back grabs and bear hug holds, equipping you with practical skills for real-world scenarios.

From Yellow Belt III onward, light sparring becomes a key component of your training. To participate, you’ll be required to bring your sparring gear to every class, ensuring you’re prepared to apply your skills in a controlled, safe environment.

This stage of your journey is both exciting and rewarding, as it pushes you to new heights and prepares you for even greater challenges ahead.

Advanced Taekwondo

As a senior member of the club, you’ve earned the right to wear the distinguished Black Dobok and attend advanced classes. With the goal of Black Belt clearly in sight, this stage demands 100% effort, heightened skill, and unwavering commitment in every aspect of your training.

At this level, you’ll be expected to deepen your knowledge of Korean terminology, immerse yourself in the history of Taekwondo, and embody its core philosophies: dedication, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit.

Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to assist in classes, sharing your expertise and serving as a role model for junior students. This not only strengthens your understanding but also reinforces your leadership skills and sense of responsibility within the club.

This is a time to rise to the challenge, embrace the traditions of Taekwondo, and inspire others through your discipline and determination.
